Privacy Policy

Summary: WakeTracker does not collect or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics — the app makes no network requests at all. What it records, the videos and the run logs, stays on your iPhone.

Data the app accesses

The app requests a few iOS permissions in order to work. In no case is this information sent off your device.

Camera and microphone. To record the runs, with sound, like any video recording. When a recording ends, the video is saved to your camera roll in the Photos app. The app does not upload video anywhere.
Location (GPS). Used during a session to measure the boat's speed and decide when to start and stop recording. When run logging is on, position is also written to the file described in the next section — which likewise never leaves the device.
Bluetooth. Used exclusively to connect to and control the DJI Osmo Mobile 5 gimbal. Communication happens only between your iPhone and the gimbal.

Run logs

Alongside the video, the app stores a file describing what happened during the run: the boat's speed, position and heading, gimbal movement, where the rider was in frame, and the setup you typed in — rider name, rope length and boat ballast. This is what makes it possible to compare one session with another.

The file lives in the app's folder on your iPhone. You can open, copy or delete it in Files › On My iPhone › WakeTracker › runs. It is not sent anywhere: it only leaves the device if you share it yourself. To stop recording it, turn off "Record run data" in the app's Settings › Log. Deleting the app removes the logs with it.

What the app does not do

No account creation and no login.
No network requests: it works entirely offline.
No analytics tools and no third-party SDKs.
No advertising.
No tracking across apps or websites, and no advertising identifiers.
No selling, renting or sharing of data with third parties — because no data is collected.

Third-party services

The app connects to a DJI Osmo Mobile 5 gimbal over Bluetooth in order to control it. That connection is local, between the two devices. Rider recognition in the image also runs entirely on the iPhone. WakeTracker does not send data to DJI or to any other external service.

Children

WakeTracker is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as Brazil's LGPD and the GDPR give you rights over your personal data, including access, correction and deletion. Since WakeTracker collects and stores no personal data on any server, there is no information of yours in our custody to access, correct or delete. What exists stays on your iPhone and under your control: the videos in your camera roll and the logs in the app's folder. Uninstalling the app removes the logs with it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with the updated date at the top. Material changes will be described in the app's release notes.
