Clamp the iPhone into the Osmo Mobile 5, connect over Bluetooth and mount the rig on the boat. From there the app finds the rider behind the boat, keeps the camera on them, and uses GPS to measure the boat's speed and decide when to start and stop recording.
Check that the Osmo Mobile 5 is on and that the iPhone's Bluetooth is enabled. If the gimbal is paired with the DJI app, close that app first — the gimbal accepts only one connection at a time. A steady green light on the gimbal means it is already connected to something else; a blinking light means it is free.
The trigger is the boat's speed, measured by GPS. Confirm you allowed location access in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › WakeTracker, and that the iPhone has a GPS signal (inside a closed cabin the signal can drop).
Reposition the gimbal so the rider is inside the field of view from the start of the pull, and avoid shooting straight into the sun.
To your camera roll, in the Photos app, saved automatically at the end of each recording. Audio is recorded along with the image. If the iPhone denies permission to save to Photos, the app says so on screen and the video is not lost.
Each pass also produces a file with the boat's speed, the gimbal's movement and the session setup. It lives in Files › On My iPhone › WakeTracker › runs, and you can AirDrop it or share it straight from Settings › Log inside the app. If you would rather not record it, just turn off "Record run data" on that same screen.
WakeTracker collects no data and makes no network requests. Videos and logs stay on your iPhone. Details in the privacy policy.
